Our client is seeking a Lead Software Developer who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to inspire and lead a team. This role will see you driving the architecture and direction of proprietary software products, while mentoring developers to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions. You’ll play a key part in technical decision-making, shaping project outcomes, and directly influencing the evolution of cutting-edge products.
Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment that encourages innovation and growth.
- Take ownership of the architectural design for large-scale, long-lifecycle systems supporting multiple customers.
- Work closely with Technical Analysts to translate business requirements into clear, actionable work packages.
- Shape and influence the development of cloud-ready solutions, ensuring alignment with Azure architecture and best practices.
- Drive coding standards, best practices, and strong technical governance across the team.
- Support end-to-end project delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget requirements are consistently met.
Skills & experience
- Proven experience in application software development, particularly within large-scale, long-lifecycle systems.
- Strong technical expertise in ASP.NET, C#, MS SQL, and the .NET framework (with .NET 6+ considered advantageous).
- In-depth understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including source control and work management tools.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
- Experience within the Food Production sector is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Azure technologies and Cosmos DB, with an understanding of cloud-based solutions.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications or equivalent qualifications are beneficial.
