Our history

1982 .

Datasource was founded by Bill Macleod in Camberley, UK. It was a huge leap with a young family in tow.

1983 .

Datasource moved to Cheltenham after securing a huge contract with Smiths Industries now GE Aviation to supply software and test engineers, along with NATS, Ferranti & GEC Marconi.

1985 .

Soon Datasource became known for software engineers and local government bodies signed Datasource up to supply them too. Other clients included; Lucas Industries, Matra Marconi, Kelvin Hughes & Inmarsat.

1995 .

Stuart Macleod joined the family business shortly after graduating Cardiff University with a degree in Business Management.

1998 .

Datasource became a HMG certified supplier to local and National Government Departments helping to support the fight of National Security.

2003 .

Moved into 83 Promenade to support the local cyber community.

2004 .

Stuart became the Managing Director & Shareholder.

2005 .

Lindsay Babbage joined the business as an administrator.

2015 .

Lindsay Babbage became Shareholder Director.

2016 .

Datasource began to deliver permanent placements. Turning Datasource into a Contract & Permanent Recruitment Business.

2017 .

The Datasource Consultancy Division was born.

2018 .

Datasource became an IIP Gold awarded business & began it’s journey delivering resources to huge Blue Chip Tech Firms.

2019 .

Datasource won the Family Business of the Year award.

2019 .

First Platinum Recruiter and Recruitment Business Partner – Lauren Gallagher.
