Senior Planner

Introduction

Our client is supporting an Industrial Client and therefore is looking for an experienced planner with at least 10 years experience in Planning, with 5 years in a Senior role.

You will need experience in Industrial, Chemical or Oil & Gas sector, having worked on major capital projects (the value of the projects for this client valuing between several hundred million to over a billion pounds.

You must have experience of major EPC or EPCM contracts and ideally have worked on FEL.

The site is 15 miles West of Chester. This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week on site. Occasional travel outside of the North West which will be expensed.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting client with front end development process.
  • Developing and owning the integrated management schedule.
  • Interrogating and analysing the EPCM schedule and progress reporting.
  • Planning and scheduling client work packages.
  • Working with client, consultants and contractors to schedule planning, permitting & other regulatory approvals.
  • Challenge client and contractor schedule including being able to demonstrate basis for challenge.
  • Reviewing progress submissions from the contractor and providing advice and guidance to client.
  • Supporting the change management process.
  • Leading schedule reviews and meeting with contractor on behalf of client.
  • Schedule interactive planning reviews and what if analysis.
Skills & experience
  • Sector knowledge: Chemical and industrial (or oil and gas).
  • Discipline knowledge: Civil, Mechanical, pipework, electrical, instrumentation, access, insulation, painting within Industrial sector (power, chemical, oil, gas, etc).
  • Experience 10 years plus including >5 years in a senior commercial role on major capital projects (several hundred million to over billion pounds).
  • Must have experience of major EPC or EPCM contracts either client or contractor.
  • Knowledge of front end process development desirable.
  • Strong planning background ideally client side, ideally with knowledge of risk management.
