Introduction

Our client are a large Nuclear company looking for a Project Manager to lead on high profile projects.

 

You will be delivering complex, projects in secure environments, this role is accountable for full lifecycle project management from concept through to design, delivery and construction.

 

Working Patterns: This role is based full time on site.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead projects and portfolios ranging from early concept development to final operational handover.
  • Manage multidisciplinary engineering, construction and specialist teams in high hazard environments.
  • Deliver projects under gated governance processes (pre-concept, concept, detail design, manufacture, installation, commissioning).
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear licence conditions, statutory regulations and internal governance frameworks.
  • Oversee decommissioning, demolition, remediation and repurposing activities including radioactive and hazardous material management.
  • Administer and manage contracts under NEC3/NEC4 and other commercial frameworks.
  • Engage and manage supply chain partners and framework contractors.
  • Provide leadership in safety case compliance, design substantiation and regulatory approvals.
  • Liaise with regulators and stakeholders including ONR and environmental bodies as required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to security, safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Contribute to business cases, option studies and strategic programme development.
  • Drive continuous improvement and identify efficiencies in delivery models.

  • Nuclear and radiological facilities.
  • Explosive and high consequence operations.
  • Decommissioning and demolition of legacy facilities.
  • Process Plant & Equipment (PP&E) upgrades.
  • Research and development facilities.
  • High security office and operational buildings.
  • Major capital infrastructure programmes.
Skills & experience
  • Proven experience delivering projects within nuclear, defence or other heavily regulated industries.
  • Demonstrable leadership of multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
  • Experience managing high hazard activities (radiological, explosive, chemical, asbestos, confined spaces).
  • Strong commercial acumen with NEC3/NEC4 contract management.
  • Experience working within secure/classified environments.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering projects to programme milestones and financial targets.
