We are seeking an experienced Project Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex projects in the West of the UK. You will manage stakeholders, coordinate delivery teams, oversee governance, and ensure projects are delivered to agreed scope, timescales, and budgets. Working Patterns: This role is hybrid with 2-3 days on site per week.

Key responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to understand project requirements, delivery timescales, budgets, and success criteria.
  • Support bid and pre-sales activity, including high-level project planning, resource forecasting, budget estimates, and customer engagement.
  • Lead the successful delivery of projects, ensuring agreed scope, timelines, costs, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, coordinating business change activity and technical delivery teams.
  • Continuously review and adapt project plans, budgets, and resource allocation as priorities evolve.
  • Ensure the right people and capabilities are in place to support successful delivery.
  • Work closely with technical teams and internal specialists to develop recommendations and present solutions to senior stakeholders.
  • Allocate project tasks effectively based on skills, experience, availability, and delivery priorities.
  • Maintain positive and trusted customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across delivery processes, team performance, and customer outcomes.
  • Take ownership of project financial performance, including budget control, forecasting, risk mitigation, and cost management.
  • Monitor project profitability and proactively identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams that are motivated, collaborative, and delivery-focused.
  • Coach and mentor team members in project management best practice, Agile, Lean, and delivery methodologies.
  • Take accountability for team performance from both a customer delivery and commercial perspective.
  • Use existing customer relationships to identify future opportunities and contribute to business growth.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders that support wider business strategy and long-term partnerships.
  • Act on stakeholder feedback to continually strengthen delivery capability and leadership effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with wider project, service management, and business teams to support shared goals.
  • Support recruitment activity, bid work, networking events, apprenticeship initiatives, and other business priorities where required.
  • Undertake any additional reasonable duties aligned to the role and business needs.
Skills & experience
  • Proven experience delivering projects or programmes to agreed scope, time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Strong project planning skills, including scheduling, resource management, and budget control.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including financial management, forecasting, and profitability tracking.
  • Experience leading, motivating, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to manage risks, issues, dependencies, and changing priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with technical delivery teams and business change functions.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Lean, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience to support team development and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting bids, proposals, or business development activity would be advantageous.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased delivery efficiency.
  • Experience within consultancy, defence, government, or other regulated environments would be beneficial.
