Project Controller

Introduction

Our client are looking for a Project Controller to work on our clients defence projects.

You will be responsible for creating and developing integrated master schedules, ensuring key schedules and earned value management metrics are inline to standards and quality. 

Working Patterns: 75% at home. Primarily home based but must be prepared to be onsite at any of our locations if requested to do so up to 3 days per week. The contractor must be prepared to fulfil their service on site if required to do so.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and uphold the integrity of the Master Schedule ensuring all activities and events are linked.
  • Support the programme manager in analysing trends and data to review.
  • Ensuring programme baseline control management is adopted.
  • Support the integrates project team to analyse EVM data, by performing critical path analysis and Earned value management.
  • Analyse financial data such as estimates to complete.
  • Assist in developing Programme WBS and OBS for accurate cost and schedule reporting.
  • Support Bid & Proposal activities by compiling and transferring Basis of Estimates to the Pricing Team.
  • Contribute to Risk & Opportunity Management through risk identification, documentation, analysis, and tracking of mitigation actions.
  • Help develop key programme controls, metrics, and analytics using schedule, EVM, and Power BI tools.
Skills & experience
  • Experience of working in a Project / Programme Management / Controls environment.
  • Experience of and competent in the use of Microsoft Project EPM 2010/13/16, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
  • Commercial and Business awareness in a complex projects environment.
  • Experienced working with multi-disciplined teams over geographically dispersed sites.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Practical or theoretical Knowledge of IMS and EVM integration
  • Practical experience of Power BI with the ability to evaluate reports.
  • Experience of working within the Defence Industry
  • Working knowledge of training transformation programmes and supplier schedule integration and oversight

Please note that the client has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and therefore this contract will be run through an Umbrella Company. Income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.
