Principal Cyber Security OT Consultant

Our client is looking for a Principal Cyber Security OT Consultant with extensive experience securing Operational Technology environments across sectors like energy, utilities and transportation.

You'll need deep hands-on expertise in OT cyber security, a strong grasp of frameworks like IEC 62443 and NIST CSF, and the ability to lead complex engagements at a senior level.

This is a great opportunity to step into a high-impact consultancy role working across Defence, Aerospace and Critical National Infrastructure.

Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 2-3 days on site per week

·        Lead multiple complex OT cyber security programmes, acting as engagement lead throughout.

·        Design and govern secure OT architectures, including network segmentation and hardened ICS/SCADA systems.

·        Establish cyber security governance frameworks and conduct risk assessments using IEC 62443 and NIST CSF.

·        Develop and enforce security policies aligned with NIS Regulations and HSE OG-0086.

·        Build and manage client relationships at senior and executive level, acting as a trusted adviser.

·        Mentor junior consultants and oversee multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure quality delivery.

·        Contribute to business development, bid writing and the creation of new OT security service offerings.

·        Represent the business as a thought leader through industry events, publications and emerging threat intelligence.

·        Proven experience delivering OT cyber security consultancy in energy, utilities or transportation sectors.

·        Strong knowledge of ICS and SCADA security technologies across the full OT system lifecycle.

·        Hands-on experience conducting risk assessments and deploying security controls on live industrial sites.

·        Deep familiarity with OT security standards including IEC 62443 and NIST CSF.

·        Working knowledge of NIS Regulations and HSE OG-0086 for critical national infrastructure.

·        Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and C-suite audiences.

·        Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams.

·        Ability to obtain UK SC or DV security clearance for work on sensitive programmes.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

·        OT-focused certifications such as GICSP or ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certificate.

·        Broader cyber security certifications such as CISSP or CISM.

·        Chartered or full membership of a relevant professional body such as IISP, BCS or IET.

·        Deep specialist expertise in a sub-domain such as security architecture, incident response or cyber risk management.

·        Active involvement in the cyber security community through publishing, speaking or contributing to standards.
