Our client is looking for a Planning and Subcontract Manufacturing Lead to own end-to-end production planning and subcontract management in a high-tech defence engineering environment. You'll need extensive experience in a similar senior planning role within manufacturing, with strong ERP/MRP tool knowledge. Apply Now! 

Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 4 days on site per week

Key responsibilities

·        Own end-to-end production planning to ensure all customer orders are delivered On-Time-In-Full.

·        Interpret ERP/MRP outputs, review order recommendations and drive timely order placement.

·        Manage subcontractors and suppliers, raising external build requirements and ensuring OTIF delivery.

·        Lead and develop a team of production planners and subcontract managers.

·        Monitor job status across production and procurement, identifying issues early and driving mitigations.

·        Support Finance with end-of-month cycle counting, WIP reporting and material audits.

·        Manage inventory and working capital to maximise investment across the supply chain.

·        Drive continuous improvement and supplier improvement plans in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain.

 

Skills & experience

·        Extensive senior-level experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.

·        Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and how to drive planning through them.

·        Proven ability to manage subcontractors and external suppliers to achieve OTIF delivery.

·        Experience managing inventory, WIP and working capital effectively.

·        Strong cross-functional stakeholder management, including at senior executive level.

·        Experience applying Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques in a production environment.

·        Demonstrated experience leading and developing planning or supply chain teams.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

·        Experience in electronics or electromechanical assembly manufacturing environments.

·        Familiarity with IFS as an ERP/MRP platform.

·        CPIM certification or equivalent supply chain/planning qualification.

·        Degree qualified in a relevant engineering, operations or business discipline.
