Our client is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team and drive manufacturing process improvement across their products business. You'll need a strong background in Lean/Six Sigma, New Product Introduction, and electromechanical manufacturing environments. This is a senior leadership role with real scope to make an impact. Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 4 days on site per week

Key responsibilities

·        Lead manufacturing aspects of New Product Introduction, applying Design for Manufacture and Assembly principles.

·        Drive development and optimisation of manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, cost, and lead times.

·        Lead Continuous Improvement teams using Lean and Six Sigma tools, prioritising projects and providing regular progress updates.

·        Act as gatekeeper on the Change Control Board, maintaining BOM accuracy, work instructions, and testing procedures.

·        Identify and coordinate improvement projects across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Delivery teams.

·        Manage and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers, including training programmes and facility maintenance.

·        Support Supply Chain Resilience and Subcontractor Process Improvement initiatives.

·        Identify, escalate, and manage risks and opportunities, liaising with project teams and senior stakeholders.

Skills & experience

·        Proven experience leading a Manufacturing Engineering team and developing manufacturing processes.

·        Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, PFMEA, and 8D Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.

·        Experience reviewing engineering solutions for manufacturability in an electromechanical environment.

·        Experience leading change management projects and cross-functional teams across a business.

·        Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of seniority, communicating clearly and confidently.

·        Experience troubleshooting complex operational and manufacturing problems and driving resolution.

·        Strong track record of monitoring, reporting, and communicating project progress to senior leaders.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

·        Degree qualification in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline.

·        Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

·        Formal Project Management qualification and practical project delivery experience.

·        Background in electromechanical low or medium volume assembly environments.

·
