Our client is looking for an experienced IT Systems Manager to lead the operational integrity, security, and continuous improvement of their IT systems and services. You'll need a solid background in enterprise IT management, ITIL, and working within ISO/IEC 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus environments. This is a senior role reporting directly to the IT & CSEC Director, with real ownership and leadership responsibility.

Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 3 days on site per week

·        Own the availability, performance, and security of all IT systems and services.

·        Lead and line manage IT Support staff across Service Desk and Network & Security functions.

·        Manage IT operational processes including incident, change, problem, and asset management.

·        Define and maintain the IT strategy and roadmap aligned with business and defence requirements.

·        Implement and maintain security controls in line with ISO/IEC 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.

·        Oversee third-party supplier performance and manage external service delivery.

·        Chair or contribute to the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as required.

·        Conduct performance reviews and drive professional development across the IT team.

·        Proven experience managing enterprise IT systems and services in a complex organisation.

·        Demonstrable leadership and people management experience within an IT function.

·        Strong working knowledge of ITIL service management principles and processes.

·        Solid understanding of Microsoft 365, infrastructure, networking, and security platforms.

·        Experience operating within ISO/IEC 20000-1 and ISO/IEC 27001 certified environments.

·        Experience supporting or managing Cyber Essentials Plus assessments.

·        Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

·        ITIL 4 Managing Professional qualification or equivalent certification.

·        ISO/IEC 20000-1 or ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor certification.

·        Relevant technical or IT management qualifications at degree level or equivalent.
