Our client is looking for an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their team, developing Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market. You'll need solid FPGA and digital hardware experience, along with the ability to work across firmware and hardware design. Apply Now!
Working Patterns and location – Fully on site
Key responsibilities
· Develop and manage digital hardware architectures including DSP, FPGA, microcontrollers, ADC, DAC and power supply.
· Create FPGA designs using VHDL and embedded C.
· Define, decompose and verify hardware and firmware design requirements against relevant standards.
· Perform unit and subsystem level testing for embedded firmware.
· Produce hardware and firmware design documents, test documents and simulation reports.
· Create timing and power analysis reports to support product development.
· Collaborate with embedded systems, software and electronic design engineers across multiple programmes.
· Conduct technical reviews of documents prior to release.
Skills & experience
· Experience creating top-level digital hardware design architectures.
· Hands-on experience with FPGAs and SoC technologies.
· Strong working knowledge of DSP, microcontrollers, memory devices, ADCs, DACs and power supply design.
· Ability to read, understand and write VHDL code.
· Experience testing and verifying design requirements at unit and subsystem level.
· Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation and reports.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report on technical data.
· SC cleared or eligible to undergo SC — Sole British National required.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
· Experience using Vivado and Vitis design tools or equivalent FPGA toolchains.
· Previous experience working with the Xilinx chip family.
· Experience delivering embedded firmware as part of a fielded product.
· Knowledge of Embedded C programming.
· Familiarity with a systems engineering approach across the full design and development lifecycle.
· Knowledge of defence engineering or airborne standards, or experience with MBSE tools such as Matlab/Simulink.
