Delivery Manager

Introduction

 

Our client are large defence consultancy looking for an IT Delivery Manager to work on our clients secure government environment. You will be delivering complex digital products/ services and IT projects.

 

You will be managing the success of the delivery and working across multi disciplinary teams in an agile manner.

 

Working Patterns: This role is hybrid with 4 days per week on site.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage successful delivery of IT and digital products/services for clients.
  • Work within multidisciplinary and often Agile teams across the Secure Government market.
  • Coordinate digital delivery activity across teams and stakeholders.
  • Engage with technical teams, clients and suppliers to maintain delivery progress.
  • Ensure outputs meet agreed performance, quality and security expectations.
  • Bring structure to IT delivery by managing risks, dependencies and release cycles.
  • Maintain effective communication flows across delivery teams.
  • Support adoption of modern digital ways of working.
  • Shape delivery approaches and uphold digital governance standards.
  • Ensure alignment to value driven technology outcomes.
Skills & experience
  • Experience managing IT or digital product/service delivery in structured or Agile environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, engaging confidently with technical teams, clients and suppliers.
  • Understanding of IT delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, Scrum, SAFe) and digital first practices.
  • Ability to oversee backlogs, release plans, sprint cycles and technical delivery workflows.
  • Experience managing risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies across digital teams.
  • Strong organisational skills, coordinating activity across engineering, architecture and cyber teams.
  • Ability to identify delivery challenges collaboratively and develop actionable, technology focused solutions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, producing high quality technical and delivery reporting.
  • Experience working with suppliers, commercial teams or service providers within IT environments.
