Company cultures & job summary
Our client is an established defence and government consultancy working at the heart of some of the UK's most strategically important programmes. They operate right at the intersection of technology, governance, and national security, and the work they do genuinely matters. This particular role sits within a high-profile team standing up a brand new cloud and platform infrastructure capability designed to serve organisations right across government and Defence. It's a complex, fast-moving programme with real strategic weight behind it, and they need someone who can hold the line on policy and standards. You'll be leading all policy and standards activity, overseeing a team of specialist drafters, running working group secretariats, and navigating some seriously intricate stakeholder landscapes across government departments, suppliers, and Defence organisations. To land this role, you'll need proven experience in governance, policy, assurance or standards environments, ideally within large, multi-supplier programmes. You must be comfortable operating autonomously, influencing at senior levels, and building consensus where people don't always agree. An understanding of cloud infrastructure and platform services is also essential.
