Business Analyst

Our client is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a major enterprise transformation programme in the Defence sector.

If you have Solid experience eliciting, documenting and validating business requirements, particularly through business scenarios, use cases or other behavioural formats then this role is for you.

Experience working on ERP systems would be beneficial.

Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 3 days on site per week in Essex

• Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs to capture business capabilities, processes and requirements.

• Document business scenarios in full, covering process steps, systems, data, controls, exceptions and dependencies.

• Maintain end-to-end traceability, linking scenarios and requirements to relevant business capabilities.

• Support Fit-Gap Analysis by comparing business needs against the proposed solution and documenting impacts.

• Translate approved decisions into user stories, process definitions and acceptance criteria.

• Develop end-to-end test scenarios and support testing, defect resolution and business acceptance.

• Coordinate SME reviews, capture feedback and keep BA artefacts up to date in programme tools.

• Provide BA support through Cutover, Go-Live and Hypercare, including issue assessment and requirements clarification.

• Strong Business Analysis experience within a complex business or technology transformation programme.

• Proven ability to elicit, document and validate requirements using business scenarios or use cases.

• Experience facilitating workshops with both business and technical stakeholders.

• Solid understanding of Fit-Gap Analysis, requirements management and traceability.

• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria and end-to-end test scenarios.

• Experience across the full delivery lifecycle — Discovery, Design, Build support and Testing.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to capture process steps, actors, data, gaps and decisions clearly.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs to agreed timescales.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

• Experience supporting a major ERP or enterprise technology transformation programme.

• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or a comparable enterprise platform.

• Experience converting requirements into acceptance tests using QTest, Playwright or a similar framework.

• Experience working across business, data, architecture, integration, security and change management teams.
