Introduction

Our client are a consultancy who are working on exciting new defence projects and are working closely with the MOD.

They are looking for security cleared Planners to lead, schedule and forecast projects. You will keep the projects on track in regards to both time and quality.

Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week in Corsham.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Evaluate project needs and determine key dependencies to ensure effective monitoring and future planning.
  • Prepare and distribute regular progress reports and programme updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the scheduling of resource allocation, procurement schedules, and material needs.
  • Assist commercial teams in establishing cost baselines and implementing earned value management practices.
  • Contribute to change management processes by assessing schedule and cost impacts.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and supply chain partners to ensure alignment in project controls, working across cross functional teams.
  • Review project plans.
  • Participate and conduct planning workshops to discuss the project and mitigate risks.
Skills & experience
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning and scheduling within the Defence sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Solid understanding of cost forecasting earned value management (EVM), and project reporting tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of project control methodologies and key delivery milestones.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
