Project Manager (Defence)
Introduction
We are looking for a Deputy Programme Manager to support our clients in their Defence projects, specifically working on control systems development programmes for the Royal Navy.
You’ll be oversee and manage delivery of complex engineering projects, acting as a liaison between clients and the technical teams.
Working Patterns – 2-3 days per week onsite minimum, more required on occasion. 10% travel included in the role.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and manage project delivery
- Work with engineering teams to ensure they are on track and delivering
- Liaise between project management team and stakeholders
- Manage project relationships, including partners, suppliers, and contractors
- Ensure best practice stakeholder management and contract management
- Support the Business Development function in pursing and capturing new opportunities
- Provide leadership and coaching to project teams
Skills & experience
- Minimum of 10 years within a project role
- Recent defence experience
- Have worked on technical projects before within a complex engineering environment
- Excellent relationship management skills Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering / technical subject, or commensurate experience
- Experience leading teams and coaching/mentoring
