Joining a highly specialised security team, you'll play a key role in delivering and supporting secure, mission-critical systems. Working alongside experienced engineers and architects, you'll contribute to complex projects that have a real-world impact, utilising modern technologies across Automation, Enterprise Systems Management (ESM), and CI/CD environments.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring strong Linux administration experience, including security hardening, operating system upgrades, and patch management. You'll also have experience deploying and configuring multi-vendor applications, alongside a solid background in network and infrastructure monitoring tools. A strong understanding of SNMP, syslog, and IP networking is essential, as is the ability to troubleshoot and support complex technical environments.

Key responsibilities
· Design, implement, test, and support third-party applications within secure network management environments.
· Integrate software and infrastructure components across operating systems to deliver reliable, end-to-end technical solutions.
· Review existing platform designs and implement enhancements to ensure systems remain compliant with support and lifecycle requirements.
· Liaise with technology vendors to manage software releases, updates, and ongoing application performance.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including high-level designs, low-level designs, and build procedures.
· Work with Automation, Enterprise Systems Management (ESM), and CI/CD technologies to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
· Enforce security best practices through system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and patch management across Linux platforms.
Skills & experience
· Strong expertise in Linux administration, including system hardening and security configuration in line with recognised industry standards.
· Proven experience deploying, upgrading, and managing applications from multiple vendors within complex enterprise environments.
· In-depth understanding of SNMP, syslog, and IP networking, with excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
· Experience implementing and supporting network, infrastructure, and systems monitoring solutions.
· Demonstrated ability to integrate applications with security platforms, monitoring tools, Active Directory services, and backup technologies.
· Good knowledge of infrastructure architecture, solution design, and end-to-end systems integration.
· Hands-on experience working with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
· Strong technical documentation skills, with the ability to produce detailed high-level designs, low-level designs, and system build documentation.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
· Experience working with SAN storage platforms and associated storage networking technologies.
· Knowledge of IP network architecture and design, including the configuration and administration of Juniper and Cisco networking equipment.
· Strong Microsoft Active Directory expertise, including the creation, management, and deployment of Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
· Experience integrating systems with monitoring platforms, patch management tools, and endpoint security/antivirus solutions.
· Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), with experience supporting the design, implementation, and deployment of PKI environments.
