Our client is a Global Consultancy Company expanding their teams within Public Sector, Security and Defence.
Our client is looking for a Lead AI Architect to join their Security & Justice practice, working on some of the most ambitious and high-profile AI programmes in the public sector. This is not a Proof-of-Concept role, you will be architecting and deploying production-grade AI systems that deliver real-world impact for government clients. If you have deep hands-on experience taking enterprise AI from concept to live service, this one is worth a look.
Apply Today!
Key responsibilities
- Design scalable, secure, production-ready AI architectures integrating LLMs and ML models into enterprise workflows.
- Oversee the full technical lifecycle from model selection through to CI/CD and MLOps pipeline delivery.
- Deploy and optimise models using AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, or self-hosted GPU/CPU infrastructure.
- Implement evaluation frameworks to assess model performance against business objectives pre- and post-deployment.
- Translate high-level client requirements into detailed technical roadmaps and actionable engineering tasks.
- Proactively identify and manage technical risk, including security vulnerabilities and deployment bottlenecks.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of data scientists and engineers across project delivery.
- Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to senior non-technical stakeholders to build confidence in solutions.
Skills & experience
- Extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-grade AI/ML solutions in complex environments.
- Expert-level Python skills with strong proficiency in PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, or LangGraph.
- Deep knowledge of LLMs, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, vector databases, and generative AI architectures.
- Hands-on experience implementing evaluation frameworks, security best practices, and ethical guardrails for AI systems.
- Strong grasp of MLOps and LLMOps principles including CI/CD for ML, model monitoring, and governance.
- Broad experience across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with Generative AI services.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage stakeholder relationships at a senior level.
- Ability to assess client challenges and determine when AI is the right solution versus simpler engineering approaches.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence.
- Experience working in a complex regulated sector such as healthcare, government, or justice.
- Proficiency with large-scale data processing technologies such as SQL, Spark, or Hadoop.
- Hands-on experience with self-hosted model inference tools such as vLLM, SGLang, or Ollama.
- Background in traditional ML/AI alongside Generative AI experience.
- Open source contributions or strong personal project portfolio demonstrating real-world AI impact.
Our client is committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
Part-time opportunities/flexible working is available to suit individual needs.
