Our client is looking for an Electronic Digital Design Engineer to join their team working on cutting-edge electronics for defence and electronic warfare applications. You'll need at least 3 years of experience in digital electronic design, with hands-on responsibility for complex, high-speed designs. Apply now!
Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 3 days on site per week
Key responsibilities
· Own the full engineering lifecycle for digital subsystems across electronic warfare and defence projects.
· Manage requirements, high-level design, detailed schematics and simulation for digital subsystems.
· Develop test plans and specifications to verify designs meet requirements.
· Carry out hands-on testing, troubleshooting and debugging of digital and analogue designs.
· Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
· Participate in design reviews and contribute to improving project outcomes.
· Produce clear design documentation, test plans and results for compliance and reference.
· Design manufacturing jigs for digital systems.
Skills & experience
· 3+ years of experience in digital electronic design, including complex and high-speed designs.
· Degree-level qualification in Electronics Engineering or a closely related field.
· Proficiency with digital design tools such as Altium, SPICE simulation or HyperLynx.
· Experience with hardware verification, debugging and hands-on lab work.
· Ability to manage requirements and produce detailed technical design documentation.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex electronic systems.
· Familiarity with defence industry standards, security protocols or electronic warfare principles.
Additional benefits
· Knowledge of analogue circuit design to complement digital design work.
· Experience designing microprocessor or FPGA-based systems.
· Background in power supply and battery management system design.
· Experience designing for safety, reliability, manufacture and obsolescence management.
· Familiarity with compliance to industry standards through volume manufacture.
