Data & AI Architect Manager

They are growing their Data & AI Architecture teams and offer the chance to work on large, high-impact public sector programmes. Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week.

Key responsibilities
  • Design and maintain enterprise data models (conceptual, logical and physical) in line with recognised standards and best practice
  • Help shape and guide data and AI strategy across complex programmes, working with both technical teams and senior stakeholders
  • Review existing systems and data landscapes to understand current challenges, then define a clear future-state architecture
  • Oversee delivery teams to make sure data solutions are robust, scalable, and fit for long-term use
  • Promote good data practices and ways of working to improve delivery speed and overall quality
  • Lead, support and develop teams, while driving data governance, quality, and continuous improvement across the organisation
Skills & experience
  • Strong consulting experience with client-facing delivery, including contributing to proposals and business development
  • Deep experience in data architecture, designing scalable solutions across modern platforms like Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Mesh
  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders, communicate clearly, and translate business needs into data solutions
  • Experience leading and developing teams, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment
  • Solid technical background across data modelling, pipelines, SQL/NoSQL, and cloud-based data platforms
  • Good understanding of data governance, quality, and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR), with familiarity in tools like Collibra or Informatica
  • Experience designing end-to-end data flows, from source systems through to reporting and analytics
  • Familiar with different deployment models and processing approaches (e.g. cloud, hybrid, batch, and streaming)
