Cyber Security Engineer
Introduction
Our client is looking for a candidate with a strong background in Change Control within a Cyber Security environment.
You will need experience working in a SIEM or similar and have good knowledge of ITIL processes and risk management.
This role is based on a hybrid basis with approximately 2 days per week on site. 37.5 hours over 4 days (Monday – Thursday).
Key responsibilities
- Streamline and enhance our client’s Change Control procedures for maximum efficiency.
- Work with customers to improve processes in alignment with ITIL4 standards.
- Deliver concise progress reports and compelling presentations to clients.
- Act as a subject matter expert in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), providing recommendations for product enhancements.
- Conduct thorough analysis of SIEM outputs, promptly identifying and escalating any incidents or breaches.
- Provide assurance support to team members on Secure by Design principles.
- Translate technical risks into understandable formats for non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior team members to foster growth and development.
- Engage effectively with clients and managers across all levels.
Skills & experience
- Proven track record as an IT Change Analyst, Cyber Security Analyst, or in a related role.
- Must have experience with Change Control.
- Proficiency in implementing ITIL processes.
- Strong expertise in SIEM operations.
- Competence in Risk Management and NIST Cyber Security Controls.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with client-facing experience.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Experience in Government/Ministry of Defence settings is advantageous.
