Our client is seeking an experienced Asite Document Controller to join a major nuclear programme based in Warrington. The successful candidate will have proven experience using Asite (or a similar document management system) and a strong understanding of document control processes and lifecycle management. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure programmes, working within a high-profile, fast-paced project environment.

 

Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 2-3  days on site per week

 

Key responsibilities

·        Define, implement, and maintain document control procedures, metadata standards, and document lifecycle requirements, ensuring robust governance from creation through to approval and handover.

·        Configure, test, and provide ongoing support for digital document management systems, including Asite and other EDMS platforms.

·        Establish and maintain document numbering, classification, naming conventions, and version control processes across the programme.

·        Coordinate the secure exchange of controlled documentation and manage transmittals between project teams, contractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.

·        Develop and deliver user guidance, training materials, and onboarding sessions to promote consistent document management practices.

·        Perform regular document control audits and compliance reviews, identifying and resolving any process or quality issues.

·        Monitor document registers and trackers to ensure records remain accurate, complete, and submitted in accordance with programme deadlines.

·        Support project close-out activities, including document archiving, handover packages, and compliance with regulatory and contractual documentation requirements.

Skills & experience

·        Proven experience in Document Control within large-scale infrastructure, engineering, construction, or major programme environments.

·        Hands-on experience using Asite, ProjectWise, or another enterprise Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).

·        Strong understanding of document lifecycle management, including metadata, document numbering, classification, revision control, and approval workflows.

·        Knowledge of industry standards and best practices, including ISO 19650, ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 8000, and DAMA DMBOK principles.

·        Experience supporting project audits, regulatory compliance, controlled documentation, and formal project handover activities.

·        Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Visio for document management, reporting, and process mapping.

·        Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and the wider supply chain.

·        Experience working within BIM-enabled environments and an understanding of digital information management processes would be highly advantageous.

·        Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining document quality and compliance.

·        Experience within the nuclear, defence, infrastructure, utilities, or highly regulated sectors would be advantageous

 

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

·        Familiarity with configuration management principles and version control best practices.

·        Experience with QA processes, regulatory handovers, and long-term document archiving.

·        Knowledge of document security markings, classification protocols, and information governance.

·        Professional certification in information or document management such as CDMP.

·        Formal training or certification in relevant ISO standards.

·        Degree or diploma in Information Management, Records Management, or a related discipline.
