Windchill Engineer

Introduction

Our client is looking for a Windchill SME to maintain and support the full application lifecycle.

You will have day-to-day operational responsibility for Windchill solutions, servicing new business requirements and configuration changes.

Our client is also expanding to a corporate PLM solution and this role will be critical to the integration, test and implementation.

This role is hybrid with ideally 2 days on site per week, however the client will consider remote working with 1 day per month on either the site in Essex or Fife.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Manage, operate, improve, maintain, and report the performance of the Windchill application.
  • Drive to improve business efficiency, reduce risk and maximise customer engagement.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert and technical lead for Windchill with a particular focus on administering, configuring, and modifying workflows within the tool.
  • Software upgrades to Windchill both in the Linux and Windows environment with data migration between different platforms.
  • Regular software maintenance, performance tuning and patching.
  • Ensure operational integrity and compliance covering information security, change management, asset management and software licensing.
  • Lead troubleshooting of all related service issues including management of vendors to ensure service operates as expected. 
  • Support the development and implementation of key service level agreements.
  • Manage incidents, problems and changes to the service efficiently and effectively following the agreed and documented processes.
  • Support effective operational supplier performance and repairs and maintenance contracts,
  • Ensure software licencing compliance and support contract agreements and renewals. 
Skills & experience

 

  • Excellent knowledge of the whole application lifecycle for Windchill.
  • In-depth systems administration experience, ideally across Windows and Linux.
  • Comfortable working across configuration, integration, test, support and maintenance phases.
  • Any experience of data migration would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of other PLMs would be advantageous.
