This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced (Midweight or Senior) UI/UX Designer to join our client’s growing national Creative Design team. They are looking for someone with strong user-centred and visual design skills, who communicates clearly and persuasively to clients and engages with colleagues. You will support the team by working with the web development team and other designers to deliver world class engaging websites and applications.

This role offers a great scope to grow your experience areas, whether you’re developing wireframes and prototypes for MVPs, or delivering adaptive and creative solutions for new and existing clients. There’s a huge opportunity to bring greater value to their variety of engineering, infrastructure and architectural design projects. You will bring your ideas, passion and problem-solving approaches to help them deliver fresh, digital solutions. You will also be comfortable in workshop settings, both face-to face and virtually, as well as conducting user feedback sessions. Being a collaborative team player is key, ensuring that delivery is of the highest standard, both visually and technically.

Key responsibilities
  • Full digital project lifecycle – from brief and pitch to usability and build – and active input where required
  • Confident in running or contributing to workshops, gathering feedback and running user interviews
  • Create digital designs that take on-board the KPIs and creative brief that have been defined with the client
  • Conduct concept and usability testing and gathering feedback
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and user experience
  • Create prototypes that can communicate to clients and customers for user testing
  • Ability to design and prototype in Figma
  • Proficient in designing high fidelity UI
  • Ability to collaborate closely with developers
Skills & experience
  • Passionate about user-centred design
  • Approachable and accommodating with non-technical clients and junior staff
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Outgoing – happy to support the team and help them develop their knowledge
  • Collaborative – can take on board constructive criticism and allows it to inform the end solution

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Accessibility standards
  • Knowledge of Bootstrap framework and component-based UI
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile development methodologies is a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
