Our client is one of the largest aerospace, intelligence services providers, and defence manufacturers in the world and they are developing applications for the Ministry of Defence!

They follow a DevOps lifecycle approach (which they are happy to teach!) and an Agile development methodology utilising SAFe and SCRUM as core methods so experience in Agile/Scrum is imperative!

This is an opportunity to innovate and challenge, and to be rewarded for the vital contribution you make!

Our client will need you to travel to site in Warminster a couple of times per month so prefer candidates close by! The rest of the work can be done remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Line management of Lead Test Engineers and Test Engineers
  • Responsible for all test aspects on the programme including test strategies, continual improvement, stakeholder management
  • Promote and advocate test capability, skills, and experience within the software delivery team
  • Act as test & integration lead for the programme
  • Define and manage test environments; create and manage test data; define and manage test tools
  • Manage creation and maintenance of automated test frameworks, automated and manual test scripts
  • Produce test and deployment strategies and plans in compliance with programme and customer guidelines
Skills & experience
  • Previous experience of working in an Agile delivery team who produce and deploy applications in a production environment through a CI/CD pipeline
  • Test management and Test leadership
  • Production of test artifacts, including strategies, test specifications, test plans and reports using applicable tools

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and demonstrable evidence of relevant test methodologies and toolsets
  • Proven track record of creating and managing scripted test automation environments to improve quality, consistency, and coverage within a software development environment
  • Experience of virtualisation (e.g. VMWare and Hyper-V)
  • Requirement verification and validation for software-based systems
