Key responsibilities
  • Provide the technical direction for the build and assurance of world class secure platforms, through the creation of high and low level designs.
  • Be hands on in the build and assurance of systems.
  • Use automation technologies as a standard part of platform build.
  • Work directly with customers to understand and capture requirements/user stories, through to integration, acceptance and customer sign, ensuring delivered solutions align to customer expectations.
  • Lead delivery teams by providing delivery management to ensure on time and high quality delivery.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentoring to more junior team members and presenting information to senior stakeholders.
Skills & experience
  • Significant technical leadership and delivery experience
  • Strong configuration managed approach to code management and use within continuous integration workflows, utilising tools such as git or subversion
  • Hands on, proven and demonstrable experience of designing, building and maturing automation frameworks from scratch, including: Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) TDD/BDD and knowledge of the Unit, SAT and Integration phases of the test lifecycle.
  • Automation experience with Jenkins / robot frameworks and or scripting languages e.g. Python, Java script, PHP, Bash, PowerShell.
  • In depth knowledge of software methodologies including Waterfall/V model, agile, lean, incremental.
  • Proven hands on experience of HP ALM and or the Atlassian suite (X-Ray, JIRA, Confluence, TestRail) specifically for Release Management, Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management.
  • Recent experience in testing large scale geographically diverse distributed networks type projects
  • Proficient in RedHat Enterprise Linux/CentOS 5/6/7.x (or equivalent) (Ideally with certification)
  • Ability to translate complex issues to the relevant senior audience, both verbally and written.
