Systems Engineer
Our client is a core Defence organisation who are working closely with the MOD to provide them with innovative equipment.
This is a really exciting opportunity to work on new technology within combat systems!
You will need a background in Systems Engineering OR a really strong Engineering experience within an EW Platform, Radars, combat systems or similar within a military environment.
This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days per week on site.
Key responsibilities
- Work across the whole systems engineering lifecycle to ensure system and platform integrate together and are suitable for purpose.
- Author System Requirements Specifications and Subsystem Technical Specifications.
- Participate in trade studies including defining key performance requirements.
- Work very closely with other suppliers and the customer, including customer visits.
- Technical management of equipment suppliers including review of deliverable documentation and participation at Design Reviews/Acceptance events.
- Plan and support Verification and Validation activities both with Supplier and at Integration facilities.
- Prepare evidence for Customer Acceptance.
- Provide regular updates on project status/progress in accordance with project specific reporting cycles.
- Contribute to identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages and to manage the resulting change embodiment activities.
Skills & experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience of requirements management.
- Verification and Validation experience.
- Prior participation in design reviews or similar.
- Excellent communication skills.
- If all technical skills are not currently met, they are more than happy to consider candidates with strong naval platform knowledge (Electronic Warfare, Radars, Combat Systems etc.)
- Knowledge/experience of System Engineering Lifecycle.
