Introduction

Our client is one of the UK’s key Defence companies who provide critical and complex engineering services in the UK and internationally.

They deliver vital services and manage complex assets on behalf of their customers across three key markets; defence, emergency services and civil nuclear.

They are looking for solutions focused Systems Engineers to work across the whole Systems Lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
  • The production of technical information in support of projects and new business opportunities across the Systems Engineering lifecycle.
  • Undertaking Systems Engineering activities across the following areas (they do not expect everything!)
    • System concepts
    • System capability issues
    • Design for attributes, such as safety, security, ARM, etc.
    • Functional analysis
    • Modelling and simulation
    • Systems integration, verification, and validation
    • Liaising with clients to elicit requirements
    • Manage the requirements across the systems lifecycle
    • Providing systems architecture/design documents
    • Maintaining technical documentation
Skills & experience
  • Experience across the whole systems engineering lifecycle
  • Experience creating, maintaining and following technical procedures and documentation
  • Domain knowledge in one of the following areas is desirable:
    • Military external communications;
    • Military communications networks (WAN and LAN);
    • Electronic warfare systems;
    • Command and control systems;
    • Software and hardware architecture design.
  • Qualified Engineer or working towards a chartered status
  • INCOSE recognised Systems Engineering qualifications, covering a broad range of the systems life cycle is desirable.
