Systems Engineer

Our client is looking for a Systems Engineer to work across the whole systems lifecycle within an Agile team who develop and deploy software to the Ministry of Defence.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to be involved with technically advanced systems for the organisation and visualisation of military geospatial intelligence.

The client is happy for candidates to be based remotely, with occasional travel to Wiltshire.

Key responsibilities
  • Works with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including customers, end users, business analysts, development team, and user enablement
  • Requirements analysis and management – from capturing customer requirements to developing requirement sets leading to actionable outcomes and value for the customer
  • Systems architecture and analysis – defining system architectures, analysing, and reporting on technical data together with an assessment of risk
  • Systems design and development – working both internally and closely with the existing strategic partnerships to develop technical solutions
  • Translates product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria
  • Provide technical direction within the team
Skills & experience
  • Previous experience of working as a Systems Engineering within an Agile software development environment (DevOps would be fantastic).
  • Experience across the whole systems lifecycle, from requirements through to design and deployment of applications (through a CI/CD pipeline).
  • Experience in authoring and managing requirements with industry standard toolsets (e.g., DOORS)
  • Experience of planning, estimating, and defining engineering tasks
  • Awareness of TOGAF
