System Support Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced system support engineer to administer and support their infrastructure development. This role includes customer facing responsibilities from day one so an engaging manner and strong relationship building skills are a must for the successful candidate.

As the System Support Engineer, you will directly contribute to the success of our clients National Security business and their customer relationship management.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting day to day Incident and request management for their customers.
  • Identify and develop required documentation to support the deployed systems.
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support the deployment and integration of new API/UI components.
  • Administer and support the infrastructure development.
  • Liaise with clients, ensuring they have the upmost confidence in us to deliver their requirements.
  • Provide on-site support when required within agreed SLA’s.
  • Support new deployment and planned outages.
  • Ensure all required security measures are met.
  • Work alongside development teams on new software role outs, ensuring a stable environment for customer.
  • Work with the wider support team and manager on customer reporting and share any service improvement ideas.
Skills & experience
  • ITIL V4 Foundation
  • Linux Dev Ops qualifications
  • Linux System Administration
  • DevOps tools – Including Bash, Ansible, Docker and Kubernetes
  • ITSM Systems
  • Experience in the service support of low volume, high value, products and systems in a highly regulated environment
  • Experience in on-site support environments
  • Experience in working in customer environments in a matrix managed team
  • Experience of certificate management
  • Deployed Clusters
  • Deployment monitoring
  • Debugging / Integration
  • Issue triage
