Software Project Manager

Our client work on Government and Defence projects, and are looking for an experienced Project Manager to help them deliver software and engineer projects.

You will take a leadership role, scoping new projects and ensuring delivery of complex technical products.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to make an impact in a smaller company!

This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week on site and a possibility of a 9 day fortnight.

Key responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the delivery of internal and external projects, ranging from research to product development.
  • Lead multi-disciplined project teams and mentor and develop the delivery team.
  • Scope new projects and manage projects from initiation to closure.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their requirements and turn them into delivery plans.
  • Own all project risk, including time, budget, and scope.
  • Ensure project quality, schedule and budget objectives are met.
  • Provide project planning and support on activities including bids and proposals.
  • Stakeholder communications for project planning, delivery, and maintenance.
  • Provide and assist with maintaining the Resource Demand Plan.
Skills & experience
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Project Management role, ideally within Defence, Government or Cyber.
  • Demonstrable experience running software development/complex engineering projects.
  • Enthusiasm for implementing best practice project management methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Some project leadership experience.
  • APMP or PRINCE2 qualified (desirable, not essential).
