Software Engineer (GUI)

Our client are a leading engineering consultancy looking for a GUI software Engineer that can support the real time Electronic Warfare projects.

They are looking for a Software Engineer to design and build screens and controls to showcase live information coming from sensors and radios.

Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week on site in Southampton.

• Design and build efficient real-time desktop GUI’s that display live data
• Understand and apply new and emerging technologies.
• Handle live data from sensors, communications and processing pipelines.
• Connect C# based interfaces to C++ services and signal processing components.
• Work on our client’s Electronic Warfare suite of software, developing new features to diverse projects spanning a range of domains including Array Processing, Communications and Sensors.
• Write clean, maintainable well tested codes.
• Collaborate with multi disciplinary teams.

• Expertise in C# for User Interface development and associated services.
• Expertise in C++ for services and DSP.
• Experience of unit and system testing.
• Experience of modern DevOps practices, including version control and continuous integration.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

• UI for scientific / technical applications.
• WPF for User Interfaces.
• SQL databases.
• Modern comms, e.g. REST / Websockets.
• Knowledge of latest Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms.
• An awareness of electronic warfare.

Please note that the client has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and therefore this contract will be run through an Umbrella Company.
