You will be developing the back end of multiple custom web portals that allows easy interaction, augmentation, processing and control for large volumes of user generated data.
You will work on a sprint basis within a scrum team to deliver key value and project increments to our customers. You will work with a variety of back-end storage and processing technologies.
You will be responsible for a key area of development and delivery and will have day to day interaction with our customers.
You must have experience working in National Security to be considered for this role.
Working Patterns and location – 100% on site in Cheltenham.
Key responsibilities
- Write clean, secure code following a test-driven approach, supporting the development of back-end systems for government clients.
- Provide direction within the scrum team as well as helping the scrum team decompose user requests and key results into epics and stories.
- Translate logical designs into physical designs and produce detailed designs.
- Effectively document all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate
- Work with well understood and emerging technologies and identify appropriate patterns.
- Integrating API / UI components with existing data stores and APIs.
- Maintain and develop existing architectural components including Data Ingest, Data Stores and REST APIs.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies with the agile team, attending daily stand-ups, epic decomposition, demos and planning sessions.
- Work closely with the client to understand their requirements.
Skills & experience
- Experience developing back-end software within a government organisation.
- Agile/Scrum leadership.
- Spring Boot.
- Java Enterprise development.
- React / VueJS / AngularJS.
- Apache Nifi.
- Spring Boot.
- Some of the following: Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana / Prometheus, Linux, Gitlab.
- Software integration / debugging.
- Understanding complex system architectures.
- Technologically curious / Willing / Able to tactically upskill new technologies.
- Network Analysis, or network domain knowledge would be useful.
