Senior Software Engineer
Introduction
Our client is a key supplier into the Government and Defence sector, and they are looking for a number of Software Engineers to join their team to work on mission critical projects!
You will be experienced in Java or JavaScript development or C++/Python and working in an agile environment.
If you are not already DV Cleared, you will unlikely be able to start before the DV clearance comes through.
This role is predominantly based on site, with work at lower classification levels may be able to be done more on a hybrid basis.
Key responsibilities
- Designing and developing software for applications from customer requirements.
- Planning, conducting and coordinating software development activities.
- Designing and developing tests to debug software.
- Utilising the appropriates standards, processes and tools throughout the entire development lifecycle.
- Documenting the program development.
- Analysing system capabilities to resolve questions of programme intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Working in a DevSecOps environment on mission critical software systems and applications.
- Mentoring teams of Engineers at the more experienced levels.
Skills & experience
- Proficient in current Java or JavaScript development or C++/Python.
- Knowledge of Agile Development using Scrum.
- Experience of developing on Linux.
- Thorough understanding of mocking up and unit testing frameworks such as JUnit 5.x (Jupiter).
- Experience in mentoring junior team members (at the higher levels).
- Experience in Oracle/ Relational Databases and/or Mongo.
- Experience in GitLab CI/CD Pipelines.
