Senior Quantity Surveyor

Introduction

Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work across a wide range of projects within the complex infrastructure sector, including rail, highways, utilities, defence, energy and aviation.

You will take leadership of projects and support more junior Quantity Surveyors.

Working Patterns: 2-3 days in the on site and on client sites across the North East.

Key responsibilities
  • Operating within an integrated client-led project team to deliver one of the most innovative and complex industrial projects in the UK.
  • Prepare and manage budgets and financial reports across the lifecycle of your projects.
  • Close liaison with the supply chain to provide accurate monitoring, forecasting and reporting of project costs and performance ensuring value for money and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct cost audit throughout the supply chain including the production of findings reports.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project delivery.
  • Direct and manage client focused teams and mentor colleagues to provide career growth opportunities.
  • Manage contract change collaboratively and effectively and as appropriate for the project needs.
  • Support development of digital reporting tools to integrate data, dashboards and outputs to represent performance analyses.
  • Provide sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders.
  • Commission management as required.

 

Skills & experience
  • Proven track record of leading projects for UK public sector funded clients.
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas sector (desirable).
  • Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent recognised body (desirable).
  • Extensive experience with standard forms and client bespoke contracts and similar.
  • Experience leading business development and, or account management activities for major construction clients.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
