Introduction

Our client is looking for a Senior Human Factors Consultant to work across a range of sectors, but predominantly Defence and Nuclear. You will be providing Human Factors Integration to safety cases and provide expertise to enhance human performance within high hazard industry.

 

You will be leading a teams and work packages.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing and lead Human Factors work packages.
  • Reviewing Human Factors Deliverables And Provide Feedback to staff.
  • Mentoring junior members.
  • Developing and maintain client relationships.
  • Supporting business development opportunities.
  • Provide Human Factors safety assessments within a variety of industries but predominantly Nuclear and Defence.
  • Providing human factors integration to safety cases.
  • Providing advice to enhance human performance within a safety critical environment.
  • Perform reliability assessments and task analysis such as HEART or THERP.
  • Work in multi-disciplinary teams on major programmes and carrying out specialised work on an individual basis.
  • Provide support to senior colleagues in delivering specific project outputs.
  • Maintain client relationships and supporting business development activities including, identifying opportunities, and providing input to bids.
  • Contribute to innovation and knowledge sharing across the Human Factors community.
Skills & experience
  • Experience working within high hazard engineering environment and are familiar with engineering terminology.
  • Experience of providing Human Factors support to Safety Cases (this may be limited experience), such as development and substantiation of Human-Based Safety Claims.
  • Knowledge of Human Reliability Assessment methods and techniques within the high hazard industry, such as task and error analysis, HEART and THERP.
  • Knowledge of relevant Human Factors UK and international standards/guidance and their application.
  • A good degree or post graduate qualification in Human Factors or a related discipline, such as psychology, engineering or industrial design.
  • CIEHF Registered Member status or equivalent or working towards chartership.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills. Evidence of a commitment to technical excellence and continued professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and client facing skills.
