Senior Contracts Manager

We are thrilled to be recruiting for a client who is a prime on a multi-billion pound programme to develop the UK’s renewable energy offering!

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has worked on large scale energy, power or nuclear projects, ideally dealing with international suppliers

You will be involved in establishing commercial processes and managing all procurement processes, and pre and post contracts commercial aspects.

This is a remote role with occasional travel required to Birmingham or London for meetings.

• Establish and manage commercial processes, procedures and governance for multibillion pound UK contracts.
• Ensure all principal accountabilities for the contract commercial team are implemented in accordance with the clients’ commercial procedures.
• Commercial management of post award and close-out contracts, ensuring whole supply chain compliance.
• Assess and define the commercial requirements of the contract.
• Manage procurement process to align to Integrated Work Schedule and ensure that adequate is allowed for an effective procurement process leading to contract signature (upstream).
• Manage a key scope of work including Compensation Events and Variations (downstream).
• Be responsible for the payment application process for high value, complex contracts.
• Oversee contract commercial relationships and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, and partners.

• Experience working on a multi-billion pound power, energy or nuclear programme.
• Experience working on FIDIC and NEC contracts.
• Experience procuring from OEMs or EPCs.
• Experience working with Far East suppliers would be a significant advantage.
• Experience of establishing contract and commercial processes and procedures.
• Good understanding of framework contract and long-term service agreement negotiation.
• Strong understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management, change and claim management.
• Knowledge of UK Law and its impact upon the contract and commercial function.
