Security Systems Engineer

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will join a team of talented infrastructure engineers with a focus on project delivery. This is both an internal and occasionally client facing role with a mix of BAU/3rd Line escalations and participation in an on-call rota.

• Deliver Proof of Concepts for modern designs (Client and Internal infrastructure) and products as needed.
• Implementation of client and internal deployments.
• Support with technical/pre-sales demonstrations and design.
• Develop and deploy solutions in line with industry security best practises.
• Help develop better ways of working and automation were possible.
• Develop documentation and process for deployments, BAU and engineering standards / best practise.
• Act as a mentor for more junior members of the team.
• Participate in an On-Call rota (typically one week in four but on occasion more often during sickness and leave)

• Must have 7+ years’ experience working as an Infrastructure Engineer
• Advanced Microsoft Windows Server (2012,2016,2019,2022)
• Microsoft Exchange and SMTP
• Microsoft AD (Active Directory) (Azure & On Prem Advantageous)
• PKI (Microsoft PKI) and Certificate Management = Security
• Advanced Linux Administration (Centos, Ubuntu)
• PowerShell, Bash, PHP, Python, JavaScript Etc
• Virtualisation Technologies (VMware, HCI) - Deployment at scale + Administration
• Security Software (Such as AV, SIEM, IDS, IPS, SOAR) – this is specifically SOC environment software, he doesn’t have this
• Database Management (SQL, MySQL, Elastic)
• Backup platforms (SCCM etc)
• System Monitoring (Solar Winds, Cacti Etc.)
• Physical Hardware Experience (Deploying rack mount servers, configuring them etc)
• Storage systems (VNX, Dell StorageWorks, ISCSI, Fiber channel etc)
• Scripting and Automation Experience
• ITIL Aware
