Introduction

  • Our client is currently recruiting for people to work in the Defence and Aerospace domains. Our client offers a range of independent and unbiased advice in engineering, technical and strategic advisory services to a wide breadth of markets and clients.
  • Our client offers ‘through-life’ support to the MoD and equipment manufacturers, and because they don’t manufacture anything theirselves, their clients can rely on them to offer independent and unbiased recommendations. The industry looks to them for advice on the latest issues and, with duty of care always high on the MoD’s agenda, which is driving this increasing demand.
  • They adopt holistic approach to their work and their people frequently work across different disciplines. When it comes to the environment, they strive to minimise risk, whether that’s from equipment failures, human error or external factors. In terms of supportability, they assess the reliability and sustainability of systems and optimise their support to maintain the capability in the long term.
Key responsibilities
  • You will capture the needs of the client for an IT solution with a strong focus on security drawing on Secure by Design principles.
  • Develop artifacts to enable the development and accreditation of the solution.
  • Support the client by managing System Engineers, SMEs and stakeholders to deliver the solution.
  • Be accountable for the security aspects of the solution, delivering to time, cost and quality.
  • Understanding of agile and waterfall techniques
  • Be respected by the client as the ‘go-to’ authority on key security aspects of the solution as well as the solution itself.
  • Apply a holistic approach to security and cyber systems to future proof solutions to achieve best effect and digital advantage.
Skills & experience
  • Experience of architecting solutions in a secure environment applicable to their classification.
  • Knowledge of relevant security frameworks. (e.g. NIST)
  • Knowledge of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and supporting tools.
  • A CISM/CISSP qualification is desirable
  • Experience of contributing in an InfoSec community.
  • Experience of applying security across a range of technical platforms
  • An understanding of leadership and client-facing consultancy.
