Scenario Modelling Consultant

Our client is a leading Consultancy within Defence and Aerospace and they are looking for an experienced Analyst to perform operational research and scenario modelling to inform investment and business decisions.

You'll lead teams that use quantitative and qualitative methods to understand, model and recommend solutions to their customer’s business decisions.

They have a range of really exciting clients and work on cutting edge projects, so this is an excellent opportunity to grow your skillset and engage in critical projects!

You will have a local office base, and then do a mixture of on site and remote working (likely 2 – 3 days working from home per week).

Key responsibilities
  • Scoping, leading and contributing to a wide range of analytical studies.
  • Modelling of complex scenarios covering current and future investment options.
  • Application of tools and techniques such as spreadsheet modelling, simulation, multi-criteria decision analysis and qualitative/soft analysis methods.
  • Determination of cost effectiveness/cost-benefit analysis, in support of business cases.
  • Interfacing with customers to help define and clarify requirements.
  • Generation of reports and presentation of findings to stakeholders.
Skills & experience
  • Strong analytical, systems thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to structure information, see and understand the ‘big picture’ and the detail
  • Experience defining and executing a ‘Concept of Analysis’ (approach/plan) that meets customer needs, drawing on your awareness and practical experience of a range of Operational Research techniques.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and leading workshops.
  • The ability to head small teams and work as part of a team in a working environment where there can be frequent change, uncertainty and ambiguity.
