Our client is delivering Data Analytics services within the Defence industry, offering valuable data insights to their clients.
They are looking for a number of consultants who can support and lead projects and deliveries, so experience within a customer facing environment is ideal, however they will consider someone who has excellent defence experience.
You will need experience using PowerBI so that experience is essential.
Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week with some need to travel to different sites UK wide.
Key responsibilities
- Provide data analysis and technical support for work within the Defence industry.
- Work with the client’s stakeholders to understand their technical and modelling requirements.
- Build dashboards and visualisations using a variety of tools.
- Manage data capture and validation.
- Identify and run different business and model scenarios.
- Support client’s use of model outputs for decision making.
- Lead/mentor junior members of teams as required.
- Provide technical hands-on expertise building data assets.
- Develop multi-faceted reports with recommendations to senior management.
- Development, analysis and maintenance of corporate datasets.
- Define and embed data analytics best practice.
- Prepare presentation and other materials for client pitches.
Skills & experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working as a Data Analyst.
- Experience with Defence projects, ideally within a Consulting environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns such as Data Lakes.
- Excellent hands-on experience working in the Microsoft Stack, Power BI and Power Platform.
- Experience in data modelling for reporting.
- End to end experience from project launch to ongoing operation of data, analytics and reporting projects.
- Excel skills.
- Hands on experience of DAX and SQL.
- Ability to create comprehensive documentation for data processes, reports, and dashboards.
- Exposure to Azure is desirable.
