Our client is a leading provider of technical solutions to the Defence and Government sector and are seeking RF Engineers to specialise in areas such as circuit modelling, antenna selection, and test and measurement.
You will work on cutting-edge RF systems, including developing new RF-based technologies, conducting vulnerability analysis, and designing deployable RF applications.
You will need to be currently or very recently working with a National Security client to be considered for this role.
Working Patterns: 3-4 days on site in either Gloucester/Cheltenham. Option of a 4-day working week (compressed hours).
Key responsibilities
- Develop and analyse RF circuits, from simulation to testing.
- Select and design antennas to meet the specific needs of various applications.
- Conduct RF testing, including real-time test and measurement using vector signal analysers.
- Analyse and test RF systems to identify vulnerabilities and enhance security.
- Support the development and verification of mission systems, with potential field trial involvement.
- Design and develop bespoke research tools to support complex RF system analysis.
- You’ll be working in a collaborative environment, either specialising in one area or contributing across multiple domains of RF communications engineering.
Skills & experience
- RF design in a similar role within National Security.
- RF communications systems implementation, test, and analysis.
- RF circuit design and modelling experience.
- Real-time test and measurement using spectrum analysers and vector network analysers.
- Familiarity with using and developing for Software-defined radios.
The client would also like to see some of the Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in RF algorithm development and Digital Signal Processing.
- Antenna optimisation and characterisation experience.
- Embedded systems vulnerability analysis.
- Knowledge of OpenCPI, GnuRadio, Python, C/C++, and other SDR development tools.
- VHDL, Python and/or C/C++.
- Development on Linux and use of GitLab.
