Project Planner

Introduction

Our client works on large and complex construction projects for their clients in Critical National Infrastructure, Nuclear, and Defence, and are looking for experience Planners to join their team!

You will need to have experience working within multi-supplier environments, ideally within a consultancy environment.

Experience within complex Infrastructure is essential.

You will be expected to travel 2-3 days per week, this could be to local sites or other sites UK wide.

Key responsibilities
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are defined.
  • Help to provide clarity on key milestones to define what, when and how activities will be organised to ensure the outcomes can be achieved.
  • Lead on all aspects of project planning, including the development, updating and monitoring of plans and schedules.
  • Identify tasks, activities, interdependencies and outputs.
  • Work with the project team to track and monitor progress against the plan throughout the lifecycle.
  • Champion the use of best practice project planning standards, tools and processes.
  • Analyse and successfully resolve risks and issues and identification of opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to the Project Manager on selection of planning approach, tools, processes and proportionality.
  • Identify and lead the introduction of industry standard best practices.
Skills & experience
  • Must have demonstrable experience leading robust project controls teams on major construction projects within highly regulated industries.
  • Consulting experience is ideal.
  • A proficient level of understanding of Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Must be able to utilise techniques such as earned value management/analysis, critical path analysis, cost loading and risk management.
  • A degree in related engineering/project management field is desirable.
