Introduction

 

Our client offers Project Management Services for Construction projects within the Public Sector and are looking for experienced Consultants to join their team as they grow!

 

You will have experience of working on Infrastructure/Construction projects, ideally NEC Contracts, ranging in value from £1m to £50m.

 

You will also have the opportunity to lead client engagements and small teams, including mentoring junior Consultants so this really is one for someone who is ambitious and personable!

 

This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in the office (10 minute walk from the train station) or client sites within the South East.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage construction projects for clients within the Public Sector including Energy, Education and Central Government.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and advise them on project and programme cost, risks and issues.
  • Provide high quality project and programme management standards across the whole project lifecycle.
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams and mentor junior members of staff.
  • Lead communications and relationships with clients and their stakeholders.
  • Produce monthly reports including project programmes, risk registers etc.
  • Manage change on projects effectively and efficiently.
Skills & experience
  • Experience of running end to end construction projects, ideally within the public sector.
  • Consultancy experience isn’t essential, but you will be working with clients, so you need to have excellent communication skills.
  • Be a client focused individual, wanting to take the time to learn and understand the client’s issues.
  • Experience in leading and developing junior members of staff.
  • Experience in the adoption and management of best practice Project Management techniques.
  • Experience of both pre and post contract Project Management responsibilities and be able to deliver this service effectively to Clients.
  • The aptitude to liaise with clients and key stakeholders whilst managing expectations.
  • The ability to manage a project throughout its lifecycle.
  • NEC3/NEC4 accreditation is desirable but not essential, however experience with NEC contracts is a massive bonus.
