Project Cost Controller

Introduction

Our client is looking for a Project Controller with experience within Cost and Change to support a Defence programme.

Day to day, you’ll be supporting the Project Controls Manager in providing project cost control and change management services to an £100m+ programme.

This is a hybrid role with on site work as and when required. 1-2 days per week likely.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing the financial aspects of the programme from initiation to completion.
  • This includes the development, implementation and refinement of effective cost control measures.
  • Perform cost forecasting, cost variance analysis and performance evaluation.
  • Develop cost estimates and forecasts, identifying potential risks and variance.
  • Assessing and managing the financial impact of changes in project scope, requirements or objectives.
  • Ownership and management of our client’s change management process.
  • Ensure application of project controls are integrated and feeding one another to effectively support project delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver all necessary internal and external cost control reports and documentation.
  • Provide key input into the production and management of Control Account Plans.
  • Collate, organise, and present the necessary data to enable Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting.
  • Provide the necessary input to enable Cost Risk Analysis (CRA).
Skills & experience
  • This role will suit candidates with a background in finance, accountancy, project management or project controls.
  • Cost controls experience and applying cost management to projects.
  • Previous experience on complex defence projects.
  • Experience in the application of SRA/CRA and EVM.
  • Experience managing change processes and formally driving and identifying the need for change through application of integrated project controls.
  • Experience working with senior level managers both internally and externally.
  • APM PMQ, Chartered status or equivalent (advantageous).
