Introduction

Our client are a large Consultancy who are on the lookout for an experienced Project Controls manager to lead their project controls team on complex infrastructure projects in their defence sector.

The ideal candidate must have experience working in project controls in an engineering or construction environment. If this seems like you then Apply Now!

This will be a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week on site with travel to other sites expected.

Key responsibilities
  • Embed a robust breakdown structure, integrating the data from each of the controls functions.
  • Lead workshops and planning sessions to integrate a master schedule
  • Understanding the procurement principals, such as lead times and material ordering.
  • Manage the risk management against quality assessments.
  • Communicating to key stakeholders to update them on the project.
  • Manage change processes such as time, quality, scope etc..
  • Driving delivery and achieve schedule and cash flow KPI’s.
  • Control costs such as conceptual estimating, funding stage gates, contingency principals and procurement principals.
  • Control the master program applying quality checks to updates from the client and principal contractor.
Skills & experience
  • Proven experience in delivering Controls in a major project/ programme environment, ideally within Defence, Data Centre’s, Life Sciences, Pharma, R&D facilities, Industrial, Manufacturing, Distribution & Logistics sectors.
  • Experience in managing a multi-functional controls team.
  • Proficiency with controls/ general software applications such as Primavera (P6), Power BI, Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management.
  • Experience of leading collaborative workshops.
