Introduction

Our client is a leading consultancy who is looking for Programme leaders with experience within the customs and trade industry. Candidates will have a background in leading large scale transformation programmes and come from either a public or private sector background, working on projects/programmes and want to help the government and clients to deliver projects that facilitate the seamless movement of goods and people across international borders.

Our client is particularly interested in those who have worked on IT transformation programmes including customs declaration systems, utility trade or trade platforms, supply chain digitisation and transformation or taking a new border/trade/custom/logistics product to market.

Key responsibilities
  • Work with outstanding digital talent across disciplines to innovate and create great solutions for public sector organisations.
  • Your role will include helping customers to digitise Customs and International Trade processes, as well as delivering solutions to enable effective border controls, connecting the border ecosystem.
  • Delivery of new operating structures and services that support UK Global international trade and customs compliance.
  • Running programmes that bring together the wide range of Government and private sector stakeholders to streamline customs compliance and/or enable digital trade documentation.
  • Operational change programmes, working at the front-line for border control, customs inspections, port operations and logistics.
  • Apply a combination of consulting experience, industry knowledge, tools and technology to anticipate and address major portfolio, programme, project and change management challenges
  • Shape and deliver major cross-functional transformation projects and programmes
Skills & experience
  • Excellent presentation, client facing, relationship building, facilitation and communication skills
  • Worked for a government department or private sector company with a focus on border processes/logistics
  • Programme strategy; definition and planning, delivery strategy, business case development
  • Portfolio design; alignment of programmes with business strategy; frameworks to shape and manage delivery through the cycle
  • Programme delivery; project and programme management, programme controls/assurance, risk management, and operational readiness
  • Mentoring, coaching or managing others in project teams and in other parts of the business in addition to an ability to work collaboratively and to be a team player.
