Company Cultures and Job Summary:
- Our client is looking for a Product Owner with strong Agile delivery skills to own the product backlog, translate business needs into valuable outcomes, and ensure teams deliver high-quality solutions at pace. You’ll sit at the intersection of customers, stakeholders, and delivery teams, turning strategy into shipped value.
- This role blends product ownership with hands-on agile delivery, so you’ll be as comfortable defining a roadmap as you are facilitating sprint ceremonies.
Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week on client sites.
Key responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is prioritised, refined, and ready.
- Translate business goals and customer needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Define and communicate product vision, goals, and success metrics.
- Balance stakeholder demands with technical feasibility and delivery capacity.
- Make fast, informed decisions to maximise value delivery.
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and QA to deliver increments of value each sprint.
- Lead or support Scrum ceremonies (planning, refinement, review, retrospectives).
- Remove delivery blockers and manage dependencies across teams.
- Promote agile best practices and continuous improvement.
- Ensure delivery aligns with agreed scope, quality, and timelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Gather, validate, and prioritise requirements from internal and external customers.
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly and transparently.
- Use feedback and data to iterate and improve the product.
Skills & experience
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
- Experience working with cross-functional delivery teams.
- Ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Confident stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong prioritisation and decision-making ability.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
- Experience in [industry/domain – e.g. SaaS, fintech, healthcare].
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Experience with roadmap planning and outcome-based delivery.
- Knowledge of Lean, OKRs, or product discovery techniques.
- Scrum Product Owner or Agile certification.
