Principal Systems Engineer

Salaries ranging from £40,000 - £80,00 depending on the level!
Due to the nature of the work, a large proportion of their design work needs to be done on a secure site in Wiltshire and they are interested in putting candidates through DV clearance.
Our client is one of the UK’s key Defence companies who provide critical and complex engineering services in the UK and internationally, this programme being of National importance to the major UK Military!
They are looking for solutions focused Systems Engineers to work across the whole Systems Lifecycle, however their key projects are in the ‘design’ phase, so an excellent opportunity to be involved in some key safety critical projects!
Key responsibilities
- The production of technical information in support of projects and new business opportunities across the Systems Engineering lifecycle.
- Undertaking Systems Engineering activities across the following areas (they do not expect everything!)
- System concepts
- Requirements capture for design
- System and sub-system design
- System capability issues
- Design for attributes, such as safety, security, ARM, etc.
- Functional analysis
- Modelling and simulation
- Systems integration, verification, and validation
- Liaising with clients to elicit requirements
- Manage the requirements across the systems lifecycle
- Providing systems architecture/design documents
- Maintaining technical documentation
Skills & experience
- Experience across the whole systems engineering lifecycle
- Experience creating, maintaining and following technical procedures and documentation
- Domain knowledge in one of the following areas is desirable:
- Military external communications (HF, RF etc.);
- Military communications networks (WAN and LAN);
- Electronic warfare systems;
- Command and control systems;
- Software and hardware architecture design.
- Qualified Engineer or a desire to be chartered (the client is willing to support this)
