Principal Systems Engineer

Our client is looking for Innovative Systems Engineering leader to join our client’s team and manage teams of Engineers.

They work across military communication systems, EW, intelligence and Engineering. They are supporting the Defence Industry to help create a safe and secure world and need you to join them on their mission!

This is going to be a client facing role so it is imperative that you have experience in a similar position, within a Defence environment.

Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, it is likely that a large proportion of the work will be site based, however they are happy to discuss individual requirements.

Key responsibilities
  • Leading/Managing teams of Engineers.
  • Establishing system concepts and solving system capability issues.
  • Determining and managing stakeholder requirements.
  • Working with/on Architectural design.
  • Working on design for attributes, such as safety, security, ARM, etc.
  • Performing functional analysis and systems modelling and simulation.
  • Working closely with clients to establish their preferred solutions.
  • Work across the whole Systems Lifecycle through integration, verification, and validation.
Skills & experience
  • Broad knowledge across Engineering discipline (Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Information Systems / Communications Systems).
  • Knowledge of MOD working practices.
  • Experience across the whole systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience of System Acceptance & Installation Acceptance.
  • Team leadership/management experience.
  • Excellent customer facing experience within a Defence environment is ideal.
