PMO Delivery Consultant

Introduction

Our client are delivering key projects within the National Security sector hence they are on the lookout for a PMO Consultant to support the delivery of projects.

You will be working across multi disciplinary programs to ensure clear alignment with delivery strategy and company objectives.

You will be working closely with client teams and internal stakeholders whilst delivering across a wide portfolio of projects so good stakeholder management is key for this role.

Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role with 3-4 days on site per week on site in Cheltenham.

Key responsibilities
  • Contribute to the delivery of PMO functions across complex, multi-disciplinary programmes.
  •  Provide coordination, reporting, and advisory support as part of a collaborative team.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of governance frameworks and delivery controls by contributing to process documentation.
  • Coordinate stakeholder input, and ensure adherence to established standards across project teams.
  • Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to gather, analyse, and share data-driven insights, supporting informed decision-making and helping shape strategic priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, and senior Stakeholders.
  • Apply your network and knowledge to support project delivery, including identifying relevant contacts, sharing insights, and helping connect teams with resources that enable successful outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior PMO professionals, contributing to a culture of excellence.
Skills & experience
  • Proven experience in PMO, project support, or other delivery disciplines.
  • Experience in Financial Management.
  • Good understanding of project delivery methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Experience using tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Power BI, or similar.
  • Strong people and communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for making a difference.
  • Manage client demands whilst contributing to the development of the Delivery Optimisation sub-practice and Core Market.

Please note that the client has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and therefore this contract will be run through an Umbrella Company. Income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.
